🌱 LOAMY HEARTS – Day 7
Guarding the Soil of Your Heart
Unknown Servant Notes
📖 Verse of the Day
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
🌿 Topic
How to Guard What You Receive
🔍 Understanding the Instruction
To “keep” your heart means:
To watch over it intentionally
To control what is allowed in
To prevent what should not enter
This is not automatic.
It requires deliberate action.
🔥 Reflection
A loamy heart becomes dangerous
when it is unguarded.
But the solution is not to harden the heart—
it is to guard it properly.
A guarded heart is not:
Suspicious of everything
Closed to everyone
Resistant to truth
A guarded heart is:
Careful about what it receives
Willing to examine what it hears
Anchored in the Word of God
📖 “Take heed what ye hear…” — Mark 4:24 (KJV)
This is a direct instruction:
👉 Be careful what you allow into your hearing and heart
⚖️ Practical Guarding
1. Pause Before Accepting
Do not immediately believe what you hear.
📖 “The simple believeth every word…” — Proverbs 14:15 (KJV)
2. Examine the Source
Ask:
Is this reliable?
Is this complete?
Is this verified?
3. Test Against the Word of God
If it does not align with truth,
it must not be accepted.
📖 “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)
4. Refuse What Is Uncertain
Not everything needs a conclusion.
You are allowed to say:
👉 “I don’t know enough to form an opinion.”
5. Do Not Carry What You Have Not Proven
Do not repeat what you cannot confirm.
📖 “Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer…” — Leviticus 19:16 (KJV)
🔥 The Right Balance
Be soft toward the Word of God
Be firm against unverified words
This is how the heart remains:
Pure
Stable
Reliable
⚠️ What Happens If You Do Not Guard It
Anything can enter
Everything can grow
Discernment will weaken
Judgment will become unreliable
And over time,
you will struggle to distinguish:
Truth from assumption
Reality from report
🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
teach me to guard my heart with diligence.
Give me discipline to pause before accepting,
wisdom to examine what I hear,
and strength to reject what is not true.
Let my heart not be open to every voice,
but only to what aligns with Your Word.
Establish in me a steady and discerning spirit—
one that is not easily influenced,
but firmly rooted in truth.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen.
🔥 Takeaway
A healthy heart is not one that receives everything—
but one that carefully chooses what it allows to grow.
✍🏾 Unknown Servant Note
You do not guard your heart by chance—
you guard it by decision.
What you allow in
will determine what comes out.
