Revival in the Pulpit

"shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”Matthew 7:16 (KJV)

Many denominational pastors and ministers today announce revival. Churches are filled, banners are raised, and crowds gather. But revival is never judged by numbers or noise — it is judged by fruit. Revival simply stirs up what is inside. If the preacher carries humility, love, and truth, revival will magnify Christ in him. But if pride, greed, and worldliness are hidden within, revival will only amplify those things.

That is why many so-called Pentecostal churches are worldly from the pulpit to the pew. Their appearance is nothing but worldliness magnified. The revival they shout about only revives the true nature and spirit behind their pulpits. Instead of preaching holiness and total separation from the world, they soften the message. They say, “God looks on the heart, not the outside,” forgetting the scripture that says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23 KJV). A man’s daily lifestyle is conceived in his heart, and what is in the heart will always show on the outside.

Come with me to the verse of the day!

πŸ“– Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.”Jeremiah 23:1 (KJV)

✍️ Topic: Revival in the Pulpit

🌱 Reflection
Revival in the pulpit is a magnifier. If the preacher carries in him the fruit of the Spirit, that is what will be revived — love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22–23). And that is what will be magnified. But if he carries pride, greed, worldliness, and the opposite of the Spirit’s fruit, when revival comes it will magnify those instead.

This is why so many revivals today cannot produce repentance — because the men leading them never repented themselves. The reason many pulpits cannot call the people out of the world is because they are still in love with the world themselves. Their revivals cannot bring people out because they never came out themselves.

No wonder William Branham warned in God Has a Provided Way (27 July 1952): “When ministers seek popularity more than they seek Christ, then the revival they have is nothing but a show.”

Revival is not supposed to make men popular, it is for Christ  to be visible.

🎯 Takeaway
A pulpit that carries Christ will revive Christ. A pulpit that carries the world will revive the world. Revival does not lie — it exposes the truth of what is inside.

πŸ™ Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, keep me from the deception of worldly revivals. Open my eyes to discern pulpits that magnify self instead of You. Deliver Your church from shepherds who scatter instead of gather. Raise up voices that will preach repentance, holiness, and separation in truth. Teach me to hunger for true revival that revives Christ in me, not the world. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

What Revival Really Revives. Part 1 of 7

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV)

Revival = to revive, to bring back, to wake up something that is already there.

Therefore, revival does not introduce something new — it only stirs up what is inside already. If inside of you is unbelief, bitterness, or sin — revival will stir that up too. But if what you carry is the Spirit of God, virtues, and true love for one another (like Azusa Street), then revival brings forth the Spirit in power.

What is inside of you matters. It is important that what you carry daily is the Spirit of God, not the works of the flesh. Let it be the virtues that God has commanded us to have. Because when you ask for revival, you are asking God to stir what is already planted in your heart. If you carry bitterness, pride, or unbelief, you will only see those things revived. If you carry Christ, humility, and prayer, you will see Him revived in you.

The story of Azusa Street is a perfect example. They already had genuine love for one another and the Spirit of God burning in their hearts. When revival came, it revived what was already there: holiness, unity, and a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

This week, we begin a 7-day Bible study series on Revival. Today is Day 1 of 7. Each day will expose what revival really is — not just the noise, the meetings, or the emotions — but the reality that revival magnifies what is inside a person or a church. Some revivals stir flesh, others stir deception, but true revival stirs Christ Himself.

So the key question is: What are you carrying inside?

Come with me to the verse of the day!

πŸ“–  “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”Psalm 51:10 (KJV)

✍️ Topic: What Revival Really Revives

🌱 Reflection
Revival is not about gatherings, tents, or loud emotions. It is about what is already within being brought back to life. If envy, pride, or unbelief is inside, revival stirs that. If love, humility, and Christ dwell in the heart, revival brings forth the Spirit in power.

Azusa Street was not born out of men seeking fame, but of believers already carrying a hunger for God and love for one another. When revival fell, it revived holiness and unity because that was what was inside.

In a message preached on 27 March 1953, William Branham, a prophet of God, said: “A revival is not adding more to the church; it’s reviving what’s already in the church.”

🎯 Takeaway
Revival is a mirror. It reveals and magnifies what you already carry. If you carry Christ, He will be revived in you. If you carry sin, that will be revived too. Prepare your heart, because revival will always expose what is inside.

πŸ™ Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, search me and know me. Remove unbelief, pride, and hidden sin from my life. Fill me with Your Spirit and virtues, so that when revival comes, it revives only You within me. Make my heart clean and my spirit right, that Christ may be stirred in power. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Load of Evil

"He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.”Psalm 7:15 (KJV)

The bagworm moth (Psychidae) is a living illustration of an old West African adage: “The worm that gathers leaves, trees, and all they can gather will always carry it by themselves.”

The larva builds a bag out of everything it can gather — sticks, leaves, sand, and debris. It carries the bag on its own back all its life. The more it gathers, the heavier and more conspicuous the bag becomes. In the process, it hides itself completely under the weight of what it has collected.

Spiritually, it’s a vivid metaphor: those who go to every length — spiritually, physically, or diabolically  to harm others are, in reality, building their own bag. Every evil deed, curse, or manipulation becomes a load they must carry themselves. Instead of glory, they end up covered by the very things they gathered - hidden under their own schemes, their destiny and light dimmed by their secret works. Like the bagworm, they carry not just their “cover” but also their judgment.

That’s why the Scriptures say, “He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made” (Psalm 7:15 KJV). Evil ultimately recoils on its maker.

Come with me to the verse of the day!

πŸ“– Verse of the Day

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”Galatians 6:7 (KJV)

✍️ Topic: The Load of Evil

🌱 Reflection
Every seed brings its harvest. The bagworm covers itself with what it gathers, but in doing so, it hides its own light. In the same way, those who dig pits for others fall into them. Those who sow envy, curses, and harm reap confusion and sorrow for themselves. “Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same” (Job 4:8 KJV). The wicked may set nets for others, but “the heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken” (Psalm 9:15 KJV).

The Lord Jesus Christ teaches us not to avenge ourselves. “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord” (Romans 12:19 KJV). If we keep our hearts clean, the traps of the enemy will become their own snare.

πŸ“Œ  William Branham once said, “You reap what you sow. And when you do evil, you can’t get by with it. Somewhere, sometime, it’ll come back to you.”Thirst, Jul 19, 1965, Jeffersonville, IN

🎯 Takeaway
Those who carry evil against others are only loading themselves. Stay free of bitterness. Sow love, sow prayer, sow Christ — and let God deal with the weight of the wicked.

πŸ™ Prayer

For those who have done evil (Repentance) For those under diabolical attack (Deliverance)
• Lord Jesus Christ, I confess my sin of envy, jealousy, manipulation, and harm. • Lord Jesus Christ, deliver me from every household wickedness, churchhood wickedness, and workplace wickedness that has eaten deeply into any area of my life.
• Forgive me for every plot or action that has hurt another person. • Break every chain of wickedness that has been sent against me.
• Remove the burden of evil from my life and wash me in Your blood. • Cover me and my household with Your blood and restore my peace.
• Break every chain I have forged by my own words and deeds. • Turn every evil spoken or done against me back to nothingness.
• Give me a clean heart and teach me to sow love instead of hatred. • Strengthen me in prayer and in the Word so that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.

From Mockery to Dancing

“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;”Psalm 30:11 (KJV)

There are seasons when mockery sits heavy at the door, when the church that should be a refuge becomes a hiding place for secret things. I think of Ezekiel’s vision — the hole in the wall where elders and those crafting evil hid inside the temple of God (Ezekiel 8). Evil is real, and wickedness can creep even where we expect help. I heard of a woman who miscarried each time she dreamed of her pastor’s wife — a sad sign that spiritual war sometimes walks in the sanctuary. This is why the people of God must be careful, sober, and full of prayer.

Come with me to the verse of the day!

πŸ“– Verse of the Day

“For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him.”1 Samuel 1:27 (KJV)

✍️ Topic: From Mockery to Dancing

🌱 Reflection
Hannah’s story sits beside this danger. Peninnah provoked and mocked; Hannah mourned and prayed. Yet out of that pain the Lord brought a song and a son — He turned her sorrow into a testimony. The Lord Jesus Christ is our true Deliverer who blesses the womb of those mocked and restores the barren with joy. He is a mother to the motherless and the Comforter of the brokenhearted.

Ezekiel 8 reminds us that some who wear church clothing may be crafting harm behind the wall. That knowledge should not lead us into fear but into deeper dependence upon the Word and prayer. This is why love must lean first on Christ. True love in Him never manipulates, never competes, and never dares to harm. Instead, it builds, heals, and strengthens. In these evil days, filled with unrepentant souls even in the house of God, we must be spiritually grounded in the Word and steadfast in prayer. Only then can we avoid becoming victims of the enemy’s snares.

πŸ“Œ Branham Quote
William Branham once said, “When the people begin to forget God in the church, they begin to worship men; and where men are worshipped, the work of God is spoiled.”A True Sign That’s Overlooked, Nov 12, 1961, Jeffersonville, IN

🎯 Takeaway
The days are evil, but the Lord Jesus Christ is faithful. He alone turns mockery into dancing, barrenness into fruitfulness, and mourning into joy.

πŸ™ Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, today I lift my heart before You. Turn mockery into dancing in my life. Break the chains of hidden wickedness, jealousy, and manipulation. Restore those who have been wounded in Your house. Heal barren wombs, comfort the motherless, and give beauty for ashes. Ground me in Your Word, keep me in prayer, and anchor me in a love that never harms but always edifies. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Shepherded

“This verse kept coming to mind this week: ‘Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?’ — Ezekiel 34:2 (KJV).

We live in a world where God’s children are monetised by greedy men for their own gain. Some leaders care more for their own comfort than the flock’s welfare. They feed themselves first and leave the sheep scattered, wounded, and hungry.

Come with me to the verse of the day!

πŸ“– Verse of the Day
‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.’ — Psalm 23:1 (KJV)

✍️ Topic: Shepherded

🌱 Reflection:

Life pulls us in many directions, but a shepherd’s care is steady. God doesn’t just provide things — He provides Himself. In His presence, needs lose their power to overwhelm us.
The Lord Jesus Christ is not like them, the greedy pastors who call themselves shepherds. He lays down His life for the sheep. Where men exploit, the Lord Jesus Christ restores. Where men neglect, the Lord Jesus Christ gathers. He is the Shepherd who never abandons, the One who truly cares for your soul.

William Branham reminded us, “There is only one true Shepherd, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Any minister that points you away from Him and to himself is a thief and a robber.” (The Good Shepherd of the Sheep, 1957)

Rest today in the assurance that you are guided, guarded, and supplied by the Good Shepherd.

πŸ“Œ Takeaway:
You are not walking alone — His staff leads, His hand keeps, His love sustains.

πŸ™ Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for being my true Shepherd. Supply my needs as only You can. Stay with me when life feels overwhelming. Guide me in the right paths and keep me close to Your heart. Guard me from false shepherds and help me rest in Your faithful care today. Amen.
