What Revival Really Revives. Part 1 of 7

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV)

Revival = to revive, to bring back, to wake up something that is already there.

Therefore, revival does not introduce something new — it only stirs up what is inside already. If inside of you is unbelief, bitterness, or sin — revival will stir that up too. But if what you carry is the Spirit of God, virtues, and true love for one another (like Azusa Street), then revival brings forth the Spirit in power.

What is inside of you matters. It is important that what you carry daily is the Spirit of God, not the works of the flesh. Let it be the virtues that God has commanded us to have. Because when you ask for revival, you are asking God to stir what is already planted in your heart. If you carry bitterness, pride, or unbelief, you will only see those things revived. If you carry Christ, humility, and prayer, you will see Him revived in you.

The story of Azusa Street is a perfect example. They already had genuine love for one another and the Spirit of God burning in their hearts. When revival came, it revived what was already there: holiness, unity, and a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

This week, we begin a 7-day Bible study series on Revival. Today is Day 1 of 7. Each day will expose what revival really is — not just the noise, the meetings, or the emotions — but the reality that revival magnifies what is inside a person or a church. Some revivals stir flesh, others stir deception, but true revival stirs Christ Himself.

So the key question is: What are you carrying inside?

Come with me to the verse of the day!

πŸ“–  “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”Psalm 51:10 (KJV)

✍️ Topic: What Revival Really Revives

🌱 Reflection
Revival is not about gatherings, tents, or loud emotions. It is about what is already within being brought back to life. If envy, pride, or unbelief is inside, revival stirs that. If love, humility, and Christ dwell in the heart, revival brings forth the Spirit in power.

Azusa Street was not born out of men seeking fame, but of believers already carrying a hunger for God and love for one another. When revival fell, it revived holiness and unity because that was what was inside.

In a message preached on 27 March 1953, William Branham, a prophet of God, said: “A revival is not adding more to the church; it’s reviving what’s already in the church.”

🎯 Takeaway
Revival is a mirror. It reveals and magnifies what you already carry. If you carry Christ, He will be revived in you. If you carry sin, that will be revived too. Prepare your heart, because revival will always expose what is inside.

πŸ™ Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, search me and know me. Remove unbelief, pride, and hidden sin from my life. Fill me with Your Spirit and virtues, so that when revival comes, it revives only You within me. Make my heart clean and my spirit right, that Christ may be stirred in power. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
