“Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?” — Proverbs 27:4 (KJV)
Wrath ends in exhaustion, anger fades after its storm, but envy fuels a rivalry spirit that never rests. It drives people to compete, to copy, and to outdo, even within the church. But this spirit is not from Christ; it is witchcraft dressed in ambition.
π Verse of the Day
“A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.” — Proverbs 14:30 (KJV)
π± Reflection
The rivalry spirit destroys unity. Instead of serving Christ, envious hearts serve their own pride. Instead of being inspired, they imitate to outshine. Envy rots the bones — draining joy, peace, and fellowship. The Lord Jesus Christ teaches us to take the lowest place, not the competitive one. Witchcraft seeks control, but Christ calls us to surrender.
π William Branham once said, “When you see jealousy rise among brethren, know the devil is in the camp.” — Leadership, Dec 7, 1965, Covina, CA
π― Takeaway
Envy turns worship into rivalry, but humility turns rivalry into service. Choose the spirit of Christ, not the spirit of competition.
π Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, cleanse me from rivalry and comparison. Give me a sound heart that rejoices in Your will. Keep me free from the witchcraft of envy, and fill me with the Spirit of love, peace, and service. Amen.
